Dictionaries are very useful to identify the meaning of particular words or anything. But it’s difficult to carry a dictionary with us. So that different app creators have been created some dictionary applications with regular updations. Here I am going to introduce a dictionary application named Bhashamithram. The application was developed and released by Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-Dit) books and reference on May 30 2017. It has more than fifty thousand downloaders with an average rating of 4.2 stars. The application can be download from the Google Play store through the link.
It was uploaded in the category of Books and Reference in the Google play store. The application was launched by the chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It doesn’t require any permission to work with the application. The size of the application is only 13 Mb. The application is completely free to use and it doesn’t require an internet connection.
This app contains approximately 140000 words and it’s meanings in English and Malayalam. You can search for the meaning of words in Malayalam to English and English to Malayalam. The Malayalam thesaurus is also available within the application. The application will be very helpful to know the pronunciation of the words and it’s right meanings. We can use this as a Malayalam learning tool. Continuous usage of this application will let you speak Malayalam in an appropriate manner. If we search a word, the application will show the actual meaning and its similar words. The Bhashamithram means a language friend. This application receives a good response from the language enthusiasts, you can see the positive reviews from the play store. After opening the application, you can see four options such as the English Malayalam dictionary, Malayalam English dictionary, other words of meanings that we used in our daily life activity and recent search.
You can recommend adding new words to the dictionary by mailing them. The search option will let you to search the word that you want. It doesn’t have an inbuilt Malayalam keyboard to insert Malayalam words.
